Hiliree was born from that truth. Its name blends "Hi" (from Hilda), "Family," and "Tree", honoring the sisterly bond that gave rise to our mission, and the belief that no family story should be lost to time.
Growing up as the fourth of five children, our founder knew family as something alive and sustaining. Then, at 14, he lost his mother. At 27, his father. Suddenly, the scaffolding was gone, and what remained was grief, memory, and one person who never let go.
His sister Hilda, the second-born, stepped in without being asked. She was the one who called. The one who remembered. The one who made sure he still belonged somewhere. In her, he found what family at its truest looks like: not just shared blood, but shared presence. Hiliree is his answer to that experience, a place built so that no family has to lose the threads that hold them together.
